Maryland is reporting a drop in the number of people filing new jobless claims. The Labor Department reports about 26-hundred newly-jobless Marylanders applied for unemployment benefits last week. That’s about 460 fewer than the previous week’s total. Nationally, new jobless filings dropped by nine-thousand, to 218-thousand.
