RESTORATIVE JUSTICE INITIATIVES WOULD BE FUNDED FROM CANNABIS SALES

If Governor Josh Shapiro’s budget plan is approved, restorative justice initiatives would be funded by sales of recreational marijuana. His budget calls for funding five-million-dollars of the initiatives, in addition to immediate expungement the records of those sent to prison for possession of small amounts of marijuana. The governor wants lawmakers to pass a legalization bill by July 1st in order to get the program launched by the start of 2025.
