Cumberland resident David Leon Powers was arrested, after being accused of stabbing another person in the 900-block of Gay Street Monday night. Following the incident, Powers was arrested at his home; further evidence was located there, after a search warrant was executed. He was charged with first and second-degree assault and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center, awaiting a District Court appearance.
