Projects in Allegany and Garrett counties were awarded $5.4 million in bond funding during the just-concluded session of the Maryland General Assembly. A total of seven projects were awarded a total of $3.5 million of the total $5.4 million; they include $750,000 for hospital equipment at the Schwab Family Cancer Center at UPMC-Western Maryland, improvements to Greenway Avenue Stadium and the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad to repair the train bridge spanning the north branch of the Potomac River and Wills Creek.
