DIOCESE REORGANIZATION PLAN MEETS ANGER,CONFUSION AMONG PARISHIONERS

The reorganization plan by the Archdiocese of Baltimore that will slash the number of parishes from 61 down to 21 is generating anger and confusion among parishioners.  Church leaders say the plan would enable the archdiocese to build a more responsive church at a time when the church is confronting an existential challenge.  In interviews with the Baltimore Sun, members of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in South Baltimore said they felt like a forgotten community because of the decision.  The public will have a chance to comment at two in-person meetings in the coming weeks  — one at Archbishop Curley High School on April 25th and the other at Mount Saint Joseph’s High School on April 30th.
