STATE APPROVES NEARLY $15 MILLION TO PRESERVE OPEN SPACE

The state is granting nearly 15-million dollars to preserve outdoor space for Marylanders.  The Board of Public Works on Wednesday approved the grants to local governments and land trusts to preserve and protect land and provide recreation opportunities throughout the state.  Projects include four-million dollars for new trails in Oregon Ridge Park in Baltimore County.  More than two-million dollars will be used to permanently conserve 328 acres in Baltimore, Harford, Queen Anne’s and Washington counties.
