David Trone’s campaign says he has loaned more than 54-million dollars of his own money to his effort to succeed retiring U.S. Senator Ben Cardin. The Democratic founder of Total Wine and More has three-point-seven-million dollars on hand less than two weeks before primary election day. Trone’s main opponent, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, has raised seven-point-eight-million dollars in the race and has one-point-nine-million in the bank. Both campaigns released fundraising figures ahead of Friday’s filing deadline.
