PA. STATE SENATE PASSES REPUBLICAN BILL TO REDUCE PERSONAL INCOME TAXES

The Pennsylvania Senate has passed a bill to reduce the personal income tax rate. Senate Bill 269 would lower the rate to two-point-eight percent. The measure passed Tuesday would also cut taxes on electric service. The vote in the Republican-controlled Senate was 36 and 14. Republicans say the measure will save taxpayers more than 13-billion-dollars over the next five years. It now faces an uphill climb in the Democratic-majority state House.
