MOSBY DEFENSE SEEKS PROBATION IN PERJURY, MORTGAGE FRAUD CASES

Attorneys for Marilyn Mosby have filed a request that she receive probation when she is sentenced in her perjury and mortgage fraud cases. They say Mosby has no prior convictions and should not serve time in prison.  Federal prosecutors will reportedly seek 20-months in prison for the former Baltimore City State’s Attorney. Earlier this year, a federal jury found Mosby guilty of lying on one of two mortgage applications in the purchase of Florida vacation homes. Last year, she was convicted on two counts of perjury for lying to obtain a COVID-19 hardship withdrawal from a city retirement account to buy the homes. Mosby’s sentencing is scheduled for May 23rd in Greenbelt.
