An analysis released last month by financial website Wallethub highlights the potential need to cut the state’s personal income tax rate. Data focused on comparative tax burdens among states and found, overall, Pennsylvania ranked 25th in tax burden. But among three categories, property, sales and income taxes, the commonwealth ranks worst in terms of income tax. Wallethub says it has the 18th highest in the nation. The state Senate was working on legislation last week that would cut the state personal income tax rate down to two-point-eight percent.
