CSX REACHES SETTLEMENT WITH CURTIS BAY RESIDENTS OVER EXPLOSION

CSX Transportation has reportedly reached a settlement with Curtis Bay residents over the 2021 explosion at its site in south Baltimore.  According to the Baltimore Banner, the one-point-75-million-dollar settlement comes after a resident filed a class action lawsuit, claiming CSX failed to properly maintain and operate the facility leading to the explosion of coal dust and dangerous contaminants.  The settlement must still be approved by a federal judge.  A September hearing has been scheduled.
