THREE INDICTED IN $3.5 MILLION FRAUD SCHEME

Three men are accused in a scheme that bilked more than a thousand victims out of three-point-five-million-dollars. A federal grand jury in Baltimore indicted the defendants for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud in a technical support scheme. Amit Ahuja of Westminster, Kapil Gulati of Glen Burnie and Priyanshu Walia of Cleveland, Ohio allegedly made the victims believe their computers had been compromised by a virus or were hacking targets. Prosecutors say the defendants made the victims believe they were a legitimate tech support company and collected payments to fix the issues. Most of the victims were older adults.
