CONFLUENCE MAN ACCUSED OF STEALING COPPER WIRE

Confluence, Pennsylvania resident Teddy Mitchell is accused of stealing copper communications wire belonging to Verizon, and trying to sell it for scrap. About 400 feet of wiring, valued at over $5,000, was stolen. As a result of the theft, internet and phone access to residents in the town and beyond had been cut off. He has posted $25,000 unsecured bail, and has a preliminary hearing on August 29th.
