FAR WESTERN MARYLAND EXPECTING SNOW THIS AFTERNOON

Garrett County could be getting the first widespread snowfall of the season this week.  Snow is expected in the Allegheny Mountains from Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening and a Winter Storm Watch is in effect with possible accumulations of six-inches or more. The Office of Emergency Management says gusty winds could lead to blowing and drifting snow, as well as downed trees that could lead to power outages and significant travel disruptions. If temperatures are cold enough, there could be a few snow showers possible in Hagerstown or Frederick early Friday.
