MARYLAND REPRESENTATIVES VOTE ALONG PARTY LINES ON CONTINUING RESOLUTION

Maryland representatives voted along party lines during Tuesday’s vote on a funding bill to prevent a government shutdown.  Republican Andy Harris supported the measure, saying in his fourteen years in Congress it’s the first continuing resolution that reduces the amount of spending while funding the military, veterans, the Women, Infants, and Children’s program and the deportation of criminal illegal aliens. Democrat Kweisi Mfume voted against what he calls the “power grab government funding bill.” Mfume says he could not in good faith vote in favor of the partisan bill that fails to lower costs for the American people, harms the environment, and makes Americans less safe and less healthy.
