Maryland Governor Wes Moore says he has no plans to take a trip to El Salvador in connection with the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Abrego Garcia was removed from the U.S. and sent to a prison in El Salvador without a hearing, after what the White House called an administrative error. The Trump administration maintains that Abrego Garcia is a member of the MS-13 gang and was rightfully deported. Governor Moore says the case is about due process and Abrego Garcia should be returned to Maryland so he can stand trial. The governor says he’s working with Maryland’s Attorney General on options to return Abrego Garcia.
