A Virginia man was killed and two others hospitalized when their automobile struck the rear of a tractor-trailer Saturday night on eastbound Interstate 68 in Garrett County, according to Maryland State Police.
The victim, a 19-year-old passenger and resident of Ashburn, Virginia, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver and a second male 18-year-old passenger were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, for treatment of injuries after both passengers were ejected from the automobile, police said. The driver of the eastbound rig, a 70-year-old resident of Canada, was reportedly not injured.
