Ashburn, Virginia resident Hihaal Babu Grandhi was killed this past weekend in a crash on Interstate 68 near McHenry. A car, driven by George Nikhil Painumkal of Waterford, Virginia, rear ended a eastbound tractor-trailer, driven by Eric Rowe of Ontario, Canada. Painumkal and another passenger, Aneesh Nagireddi, of Ashburn, Virginia were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Grandhi was pronounced dead at the scene. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation and with consultation of the State’s Attorney’s Office in Garrett County.
