PA. JOINS LAWSUIT AGAINST DHA, FEMA OVER PROGRAM CUTS

Pennsylvania and 19 other states are suing the Trump administration over its termination of a FEMA program.  On Wednesday, the states filed a lawsuit against FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security alleging the shutdown of the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program was illegal and violated separation of powers.  The program provided federal funding to disaster mitigation projects until it was shut down earlier this year.  Governor Josh Shapiro said the Commonwealth would lose over 140-million-dollars for 47 projects that would “prevent and mitigate disasters before they strike” if the program is terminated.
