The Maryland State Board of Education is reelecting Dr. Joshua Michael as President and Dr. Monica Goldson as Vice President for the 2025-2026 term. Both were appointed by Governor Wes Moore in 2023 and are credited with leading efforts to strengthen math, literacy and college readiness standards. Dr. Michael is a nonprofit leader and former teacher, while Dr. Goldson is the former CEO for Prince George’s County Schools. State Superintendent Dr. Carey Wright praised their leadership as critical to advancing success under the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.
