BALTIMORE HOMICIDE NUMBERS HISTORICALLY DOWN IN 50 YEARS

Baltimore Mayor Scott says the number of homicides are historically down in over 50 years.  Homicides declined a little over 24 percent and non-fatal shootings dipped a little over 18 percent the same time over last year.  Teen homicides are also at a low with two this year and ten last year.  Auto thefts are 34 percent lower and there’s a 23 percent drop in robberies.  Scott says his Group Violence Reduction Strategy team and partnership with other related groups are key to making neighborhoods safer.
