TRUMP ADMINISTRATION CANCELS FUNDING FOR HIGH SPEED RAIL PROJECT

Despite years of permit studies and grant spending, the Trump Administration has canceled funding for the high-speed magnetic rail project between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.  The decision potentially saves federal taxpayers up to 26-million dollars.  Federal transportation officials say the so-called maglev project never made it past the permit stage and taxpayers should not be kept on the hook for it.  The project aimed to enable commuters to make the trip from Baltimore to the nation’s capital in 15 minutes.
