West Virginian State Auditor Mark Hunt is calling a renegotiated contract with a government efficiency firm a move that will save state taxpayers millions of dollars. The company is OpenGov, a software company that focuses on improving government efficiency and streamlining of operations. Hunt says the next contract with OpenGov would have risen from four million dollars to four-point-three million but through research they found they were able to negotiate the new contract down to one-and-a-half million dollars. He says they’ll reinvest the savings back into his office and use less general revenue funds. .
