JOHNS HOPKINS MEDICINE, UNITED HEALTHCARE YET TO REACH DEAL

The contract between UnitedHealthcare and Johns Hopkins Medicine expires Monday and the two sides have yet to reach an agreement.  The contract expiration could mean the loss of health coverage for tens of thousands of people.  The dispute is not over money.  The hospital claims UnitedHealthcare is making demands that will make it harder for doctors to provide care for patients.  UnitedHealthcare claims the hospital is making demands that would harm employers and members.
