FIRST ACCELERANT-DETECTING K-9 ASSIGNED TO WESTERN MARYLAND IN MORE THAN 20 YEARS

Western Maryland is welcoming its first Accelerant Detection K9 in more than 20 years. K9 “Quinn” is a black Labrador Retriever that was initially trained through the Puppies Behind Bars program, which provides service dogs for law enforcement and first responders. Quinn’s assignment in Western Maryland will reduce response times for fire investigations that previously relied on K9 units based in Baltimore and other areas.
