There will be no new trial for death row inmate Paul Kendrick, who was convicted of killing Sgt. Mark Baseman at SCI-Somerset. Kendrick sought a new trial, making claims of insufficient evidence and juror misconduct. Kendrick accused one of the jurors of discussing the trial outside of court. He also alleged he was forced to act “provocatively” in front of Baseman. It is unclear whether Kendrick will continue to appeal the verdict to the state Supreme Court.
