Maryland Republicans are moving to block Governor Wes Moore’s push for mid-cycle redistricting. GOP leaders announced plans to introduce the Fair Districts for Maryland Act at a news conference in Annapolis. The bill would limit redistricting to once a decade after the Census and create a bipartisan commission with independent voters at the table. It also sets rules for compact, contiguous districts. They’re not alone — Democratic Senate President Bill Ferguson also opposes Moore’s plan.
