U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY COMMANDANT FIRED AFTER SIX MONTHS

U.S. Naval Academy Commandant Captain Gilbert Clark Jr. has been relieved of his duties at the service academy after less than six months on the job. According to a statement from the academy, Clark was dismissed Monday due to a “loss of confidence in his ability to effectively lead the Brigade of Midshipmen.” The academy also stated that the “Naval service maintains the highest standards for leaders and holds them accountable when those standards are not met.”  Navy SEAL, Captain Austin Jackson, has been named as interim Commandant. He had been serving as Deputy Commandant.
