Luigi Mangione will be back in a New York City courtroom today as his pre-trial hearings enter their second week. He’s accused of fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on the streets of Manhattan last year. Mangione and his legal team want key evidence obtained during his arrest at an Altoona, Pennsylvania McDonalds to be thrown out of the trial. They said local police violated his rights when they searched his backpack without a warrant. The Altoona Police Officer who searched that bag is expected to take the stand as early as today. It comes on the heels of more evidence being released publicly over the weekend, including a to-do list, and photos of the USB drive Mangione was wearing around his neck.
