Parts of far Western Maryland along with Grant and Pendleton counties in West Virginia, are under a Blizzard Warning until 10 a.m. today. Forecasters say up to a foot of snow is possible on the higher slopes of western Garrett County, with winds up to 50 miles an hour creating whiteout conditions. Eastern Garrett County is under a Winter Weather Advisory, with two to five inches of snow and gusts near 45 miles an hour. Travel could be treacherous this morning, and officials urge drivers to stay off the roads unless it’s an emergency.
