The Hope Scholarship program awarded more than 10-thousand scholarships this academic year. That’s nearly double the 54-hundred scholarships given out last year. State Treasurer Larry Pack says the program helps families pay for private school tuition and homeschool expenses. Most of the scholarship recipients are in kindergarten through second grade because the state recently opened eligibility to all kindergarten students.
