A Montgomery County judge is considering a ruling following a two-day competency hearing for Catherine Hoggle. Prosecutors told the judge that Hoggle showed the ability to plan and help with her own defense through texts and phone calls to her parents. Hoggle’s lawyer said the prosecution failed to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. Hoggle’s two children disappeared in 2014, and prosecutors want to try her for their murder. The children’s father, Troy Turner, is a Cumberland native.
