House Speaker Roger Hanshaw says economic development and workforce education will be top priorities when the legislature meets in January. He’s proposing a teacher pay raise and a program to reimburse businesses for worker training costs. Hanshaw says 81 of 91 Republican delegates identified jobs and economic growth as their main focus. The proposals also include portable retirement benefits and several business development initiatives.
