BARRICADE SITUATION ENDS PEACEFULLY; SUSPECT ARRESTED

A barricade situation on Forester Avenue yesterday, ended with a person being taken to the hospital, and subsequent arrest. Allegany County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to serve a court order, when a person barricaded himself in a room while armed with a knife. He had assaulted a family member earlier, and after being taken into custody, he allegedly assaulted a deputy. The suspect was taken into custody and the suspect was taken to UPMC-Western Maryland for treatment. Charges are pending and Forester Avenue was closed briefly during the response.
