SENATORS SAY REPUBLICANS MUST STOP BLOCKING DHS BILL

Maryland’s U.S. Senators say Republicans in Congress must stop blocking Democrats attempts to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Senator Chris Van Hollen says the government could fully fund the TSA, FEMA, the Coast Guard and other DHS agencies, but Republicans keep blocking those efforts because they want a blank check for ICE and CBP. Senator Angela Alsobrooks says the TSA, FEMA, and other agencies aren’t getting paid because Republicans have refused to fund them – full stop. Alsobrooks says Democrats have made multiple attempts to approve funding, and Republicans have rejected them every single time.
