Several local projects in Allegany and Garrett Counties will benefit from $5.5 million in federal funding, announced late last week. Among the recipients was Frostburg State University, which was granted $3.55 million to expand the school’s recently revitalized planetarium into a STEM Education Center. Potomac Fire Company Number 2 in Westernport received a $675,000 check to support the replacement of a 33-year-old fire engine.
