Governor Patrick Morrisey’s administration wants West Virginians to weigh in on new rules for the state’s Military Hall of Fame. The legislature created the hall of fame back in 2022 and the proposed rules would set standards for nominations, selection and induction. State Secretary for Veterans Assistance Ryan Kennedy says he especially wants to hear from veterans and veterans’ service organizations before the rules are finalized. Public comment stays open through September 11th, and comments can be emailed to the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance. Right now, Medal of Honor recipients Woody Williams and Phill Gene McDonald are the hall’s only two inductees.
