The Cumberland Mayor and Council held a hearing last week on a proposed zoning amendment that would allow auto service stations and convenience stores to locate in business local zones, via conditional use. After a mistake was made in advertising the amendment, the city had to re-advertise. The issue arose as a company was looking to put a fueling station in the city and the lot they found was not compatible because of the service station restriction. Approval of the revised zoning amendment is being advised.
