West Virginia officials say nuclear energy is still worth pursuing. Last week, the Morrisey administration sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Energy to opt out of the Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses program. The state had been one of six finalists. Federal officials say a campus could bring up to 50-billion-dollars in investment and nearly 25-thousand jobs. State Senator Eric Tarr of Putnam County says West Virginia should pursue small modular reactors.
