The Morgantown Urban Archery Deer Hunt has donated more than eight tons of venison to local food pantries. The program began its 16th season on September 5, and it runs through December 31. Bebout said yesterday that hunters have harvested 62 deer so far, and 22 of those went to the food bank program. Since 2011, the program has provided thousands of pounds of ground venison to area churches and feeding programs. Program coordinator Rick Bebout encourages residents to take the idea to their city council.
