Republican candidate for Maryland governor Dan Cox says progress on rebuilding the Francis Scott Key Bridge is moving too slowly. Cox held a news conference at the Inner Harbor Tuesday, calling for a faster construction timeline and greater transparency on the project. Cox is also urging the Moore administration to release an updated accounting of contractor payments and other costs tied to the rebuild. Cox’s comments come as state officials continue work on the bridge replacement more than two-and-a-half years after the collapse.
