The Maryland State Board of Elections was targeted with a suspicious mailing that was intercepted by law enforcement before it was delivered. Elections Administrator Jared DeMarinis says, “this madness needs to stop.” DeMarinis says the threatening and harassment of election administrators must end. He says Marylanders should not be intimidated by the incident that aims to disenfranchise them – and he encourages the public to vote. The FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are investigating the suspicious mailings that have also been sent to other addresses nationwide, including the offices of at least five Democratic senators.
