Several streets in South Cumberland will close for the Annual Halloween Parade on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The parade begins at 7:00 p.m., but street closures and detours will start earlier.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., the following areas and streets, including alleys leading to them, will close: Virginia Avenue, East First Street from Virginia Avenue to Wempe Drive, South Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, Seymour Street, Grand Avenue, East Second Street, and East Third Street. Buses transporting students and parade participants may still use these streets, but all other traffic must find alternate routes. Please note that no parking will be permitted on these streets after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Race Street will remain accessible as an emergency route.
Virginia Avenue, including the Industrial Boulevard intersection, will close to through traffic at 6:30 p.m., with Industrial Boulevard closing completely at Blackiston Avenue at 7:00 p.m. Drivers can use Messick Road to access Interstate 68, and Blackiston Avenue to Oldtown Road will serve as a detour around the parade formation areas. Additionally, West Second Street and West Third Street will close at Industrial Blvd., but vehicles can use Oak Street to West First Street to reach Industrial Boulevard.
