TUCKER COUNTY MINE PLANS RESTART

Alliance Resource Partners, parent company of Mettiki Coal, plans to restart its idle Mountain View Mine in Tucker County. CEO Joseph Craft announced the plan during an earnings call. A new multiyear coal supply deal with the company’s largest historical customer will bring back nearly 150 miners. Craft says two shifts could run daily by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The company did not name that customer.
