MOORE RE-ELECTED GOVERNOR

Democrat Wes Moore has won re-election in the race for governor in Maryland. The incumbent defeated former Republican state lawmaker Dan Cox in a rematch of the 2022 race. In Allegany County, Dan Cox garnered the majority of the vote at approximately 67 per cent to Governor Moore’s total of just over 29 per cent. As for the redistricting question on the ballot, it was passed by a 60 to 40 margin. Those totals were mirrored in Allegany County, with 52 per cent in favor and 48 per cent against. These figures are, again, unofficial totals for Allegany County, with all 30 precincts reporting.
