MIXED REACTION TO ELECTION RESULTS IN WEST VIRGINIA

Republicans and political observers are reacting to mixed results from Tuesday’s election. State Senate President Randy Smith said yesterday that Senate Republicans have a clear mandate to continue their agenda. Republicans won 16 of the 18 Senate races challenged on Tuesday. In the 13th District, Democrats Richie Robb and John Williams won over Republican incumbents. Longtime Republican strategist Greg Thomas called it the worst night for Republicans in state races since 2014.
