The site of the former Union Rescue Mission on Queen City Pavement will be demolished in the near future. The Mission sold its former home in late September to the Cumberland Mayor and City Council for $50,000. And, on Wednesday, the Mayor and Council accepted a $67,500 bid from Kiddy’s Contracting LLC to demolish the buildings, which cover about 12,000 square feet at Queen City Pavement and Front Street, according to the Cumberland Times-News.
