The Maple City Farmer’s Market takes place every Thursday through September at Paul E. Fuller Park in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Farmer’s Market features baked goods, flowers, plants, crafts, hand-made items and much more!

Allegany County Farmer’s Markets

through October 30th

Get fresh fruits, plants, and vegetables at Farmer’s Markets in Allegany County. They are being held through October 30th at Canal Place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Thursday; at City Place in Frostburg on Fridays through October 24th, also from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and, at the Canal Place Depot on Saturdays through October 25th.

Benefit for Lilly McCormick

Sunday Sept 7th at noon

A Spaghetti Dinner, Chinese Auction, and more. 100% of the proceeds go to support Lilly McCormick in her fight with childhood cancer (myeloid leukemia). It’s being held at the Barton American Legion Hall starting at noon, cost of meal is $12.00.

The Western Maryland Philanthropies, Inc. presents Jackpot Bingo, at 5 p.m. every Sunday at Lashbaugh’s West, 210 West Main Street in Frostburg. It’s an evening of Jackpot Bingo, paper gaming, and 50/50s supporting a great cause. Proceeds from the events will be donated to Lilly McCormick, who is on a long road to recovery.

Western Maryland Philanthropies, Inc. is presenting an all you can eat Jimmy Joy’s Snow Crab Legs event. There’ll also be shrimp and corn. the event is being held at Hoffman Hollow in Frostburg, beginning at 1 p.m. D.J. Dan Fisher will be there until 4 p.m. “Wayward Son” starts at 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. There’s a beer truck, paper gaming and 50/50s. The Eastern Garrett VFRD will hold its monthly spaghetti dinner on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Their homemade spaghetti sauce features B & B Country Meats of Frostburg,. homemade Italian bread from the Frostburg Bakery. Ironworkers Apprenticeship Competition

Ironworkers Local 568 is hosting the 2025 Mid-Atlantic States District Apprenticeship Competition. Ironworker apprentices from Cumberland, the District of Columbia, Richmond, Virginia, and North and South Carolina will be competing. Band Bash Fundraiser

Saturday, September 13, 2025, beginning at Noon

There will be a band bash fundraiser on Saturday, September 13th, beginning at noon. The bash will be held at the Improved Order of the Redmen on Maryland Avenue in Westernport. Proceeds will be given to the Westernport flood victims. Organizers want to thank all who have agreed to donate their time, including The Almost Famous Band, K.L. Swanger, Janice Ray, the American Meat Industry, Paper Cut, Rich and Friends, Gypsy Rose, River Lee, and Lightning Rod Productions. There is a $5.00 minimum donation at the gate. Nobody under 21 will be admitted.

Cumberland Historic Ghost Tours

A ghost tour of historic Cumberland will be conducted on Saturday, September 13th, beginning at 7 p.m. The one-hour walking tour will begin at the Allegany County Library on Washington Street, where tickets may be purchased immediately prior to the tour. Short Gap VFC All-You-Can Eat Wing Dinner

The Short Gap Volunteer Fire Company will have an all-you-can-eat wing dinner on Saturday, September20, 2025, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $20 for adults and there will be a reduced rate for children. The meal includes your choice of 8 wing flavors, along with french fries and cole slaw, as well as dips and drinks included. Games of chance will be played during the entire event. Cresaptown Eagles Auxiliary Charity Event

The Cresaptown Eagles Auxiliary will be holding a charity bingo event on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Howard’s Run is Back!

Sunday, September 7, 2025, beginning at 8 a.m.

Howard’s Run, a charity race to benefit the Allegany County Animal Shelter will take place on Sunday, September 7th, starting at 8 a.m. at the Canal Place Festival Grounds. Starting in 2015, the event has raised over $40,000 for Maryland’s first municipal no-kill shelter. The event features and out and back half marathon starting and ending at the Canal Place stage. The second event, an out and back 5K event, also starts and finishes at the Canal place stage area, and starts shortly after the half marathon. For more information, email “[email protected].”
