EASEMENT HEARING REQUESTED IN SWALLOW FALLS BRIDGE CASE

A hearing has been requested regarding ownership of land proposed for a new bridge and road at Swallow Falls in Garrett County. An Annapolis-based attorney, J. Dirk Schenk, in a court filing, claims Garrett County does not have a proper easement to build the bridge as planned. The Cumberland Times-News says the attorney represents Yough Farms and others, who say the bridge should be built in the same footprint as an existing structure, rather than on an offset alignment.
