The state House has voted to send to Governor Shapiro a bill that would allow public school teachers to wear religious emblems or symbols. The measure repeals a section of the state’s school code from 1949, which penalized a teacher for such religious displays. It also held school boards liable if they didn’t enforce those ideals. The bill will take effect 60 days after the governor signs it.
